Vicki received a B.A. in Music at California State University, Sacramento and a B.S. in Ministerial Studies from Trinity School of the Bible. After graduating from Bible College in 1985, she spent a summer as the leader of a Teen Challenge Outreach working with youth on the Cocopah Indian reservation in Yuma, Arizona. She was a licensed minister in California with the Assemblies of God and worked on staff at an A/G church for seven years. She served as a music director in several churches including a Lutheran church in Sacramento. Her husband, a civilian working for the Air Force, was transferred to Dayton, Ohio where she took classes at United Theological Seminary (a United Methodist Seminary). She served as the Academic Dean of Dayton Bible College in Ohio and taught at three colleges and a university.
In 2001 Vicki graduated from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA with a Master of Arts in Theology and Biblical Studies. Currently she is an adjunct professor at Truckee Meadows Community College as well as Lake Tahoe Community College teaching religion in the Incarcerated Student Program. She is a substitute pianist and music director at Sparks UMC and head of the recently formed Committee on Advocacy and Justice at Sparks UMC. She has been married to her husband Gene for 29 years and has no children.
